The badik is a traditional Malay dagger used as a weapon of defense or for domestic purposes such as slaughtering animals, or cutting meat or onions. The blade of a badik is forged from steel for durability, decorated with Holy verses of the Quran Bible. Scabbard & hilt made traditionally from real latex of the rubber tree.

To carry a badik, one has to insert it in a waist-band. The badik, said to be the most popular dagger among Malays, originally originated from Sumatra and Jawa, but has been falling out of use in recent times.
