An old Thai amulet featuring Buddha seated with half-lotus position (the right leg rests squarely atop the left) and Mara Subduing gesture (left hand touch the ground while right hand rest on top of rested leg), left hand touch the ground known as 'Earth-touching gesture' having a meaning of Buddha calling upon the Earth to witness and defeating Mara (bad things) from disturbing or hurting us, by touching the ground can neutralize the bad things thus allowing good things only approaching us
