 Codac Silver Plus digital coaxial audio cable is ideally suited to entry or mid-level systems where excellent audio from a digital source is required at a sensible price. 

Chord generally favour a combination of silver-plated conductors and Teflon insulation, believing that this produces an extremely neutral tonal characteristic.

The Codac Silver Plus however uses a low-density gas foamed polyethylene insulator in order to reduce the dielectric constant.

This allows Chord to produce an extremely cost effective and accurate digital interconnect. The heavy gauge of the central silver-plated signal conductor makes the Codac Silver Plus an excellent choice for use in home cinema systems where a digital signal often needs to be carried over a considerable distance.

The foil and silver-plated braid shielding system ensures high levels of protection from interference, a critical factor, given the complexity of many home cinema set-ups.

The central conductor that carries the signal is SILVER plated oxygen free copper. This is surrounded by a gas foamed polyethylene dielectric. Surrounding this is a dual shield system using a lapped foil wrap, surrounded by a woven braid of silver plated oxygen free copper. The shield acts both as shield and return. The shield is covered with a black PVC jacket.

How does it sound?

The combination of materials used in the construction make the Codac Silver Plus a great choice for bringing detail and definition to the sound of a system. It is not bright but it does have a definite crispness that works really with voice and film sound tracks.
