General descriptions: The keris is a traditional Malay hand weapon for self-defence, unique to the Malay world; found in Southern Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Southern Philippines and Cambodia. It's use can traced back 600 years, and its function was long extended so that it became Regalia of Malay rulers.
You are bidding at a giant Keris "Madura", the hilt is beautifully carved from real cow bone with the collar or "Pendangkok studded with coloured stones. The sheath is also carved from bone. The blade is wavy, with the Naga / dragon forming the blade on both sides.
