Myryad T-70 5-channel power amplifier in excellent condition.  It can be used in 3, 4 or 5 channel application.  It is rated at 40 Watts per channel. Previous owner in Scotland used this amplifier to bi-amp his hi-fi speakers - for enhanced dynamics, even greater transparency and heightened bass impact. A serious system upgrade. . Myryad Systems Ltd., England, was formed as recently as 1995 by the redoubtable Chris Evans (ex Arcam and NAD) and other family members, and in that time has generated two ranges of straightforward midmarket hi-fi components, apparently with considerable commercial success both in the UK and abroad. . The T Series T-70 is a multi-channel power amplifier which can be configured to drive between two and five loudspeakers.  The amplifier operates either as a 5 x 40 watts amplifier or when switched to stereo automatically reverts to 2 x 100 watts, with no rewiring necessary and with the same overall gain so there is no volume mismatch. There are five matching inputs on the back of the T-70. .         T-70 5-Channel Amplifier         Myryad T Series          The Myryad T-70 is a high quality, 3/4/5-channel re-configurable power amplifier for stereo, bi-amplification, home cinema or custom installations. It offers a choice of power options, selected by a single rear-mounted switch: five channel, four channel and three channel. The T-70s gain is identical in stereo and bridged modes, making home cinema set-ups easy. Line outputs are provided for each amplifier channel permitting further amplifier channels to be added for system expansion/ multi-room applications. The T-70s very low idling power makes it ideal for custom-install applications.   . I have had the Myryad combination (T-50 preamplifier/processor and T-70 five-channel power amplifier - in Silver finish) on loan for over two months. During that period it has been used extensively, for much of the time in helping assess other home cinema components, notably five and six-channel loudspeaker systems. On a couple of occasions it was used as a surrogate two-channel hi-fi amplifier. It soon became obvious that the relatively modest power specification in five-channel mode was 'no' handicap in practice and that it was capable of sustained volume levels roughly comparable with home cinema amplifiers rated in some cases up to 100 watts per channel. . .           One way to make the most of the available power is to use a system with an active subwoofer, which relieves the main amplifier of much of the heavy duty work, and with such systems the Myryad was just about 'unbreakable' in my medium sized test room, though the volume setting was sometimes a little higher than with competing amplifiers, probably because of the volume control law.
