For those who can do away with the
fixed internal
optical/CD/DVD drive and want a second hard drive in thier laptop
computer, this is a great solution !!
With a second hard drive, you can quickly store and back up critical
data.
For
this hardware installation, you have to remove your existing CD/DVD-ROM
drive from your ultrabay and place this caddy (with the added hard
drive) in the vacanted
position..
Please note that there are few important considerations
before installing this device:
- Make
sure you know how to properly remove the built-in optical drive from
your laptop's ultrabay.
- This OBHD caddy is for 2.5" laptop size SATA HDD
(also compatible with
SSD), and the maximum thickness of the HDD/SSD must be 9.5mm or
below, make sure you have one, or plan to buy one HDD of this
specifications to install in this caddy
- Compatible Laptops: IBM / Lenovo Thinkpad T40, T40P,
T41, T41P, T42, T43, R50, R50P, R51, R52, X4 Ultrabase Dock.

Note:
No optical drive brackets/screws will be provided, please keep the
brackets/screws when removing your existing optical drive for reuse in
the caddy installation.
