Why should I use Safetrade service?
As a buyer, you want to to get what you pay for. As a seller, you want to receive payment for what you sell. Without an impartial third party between the BUYERs and SELLERs, a constant tug-of-war could exist between their respective interests. BUYERs will insist on delivery first before making paument and SELLERs will insist on payment first before shipping the item. Unfortunately, when both parties are stranger to each other and not in the same area, transacting over the Internet can be a risky. Using Safetrade's service is the only way where both parties can trade with a peace of mind.
What are the advantages of using the Safetrade service?
-Seller: Knowing that you will get payment for what you shipped out.
-Buyer: Knowing that you will get the item you paid for in good time.
Is using Safetrade more advantageous to one party
Both BUYER and SELLER interest are protected when using Safetrade. The BUYER is guaranteed delivery in good time since seller will not get payment until shipment is made. SELLER is guaranteed payment as long as the item is shipped. The faster he ships, the faster he will get his payment.[top]
I'm a Seller and I think Safetrade as a non-necessary layer to my selling since I require my buyers/successful bidders to pay me directly.
If the Seller insists on receiving payment before making shipment, then he has not take in consideration the BUYER's interests. The BUYER in this case is required to assume the risk for the transaction with a Seller who is a stranger. For the trade to take place both party must take care of each others interest in an Internet auction environment. [top]
How does Safetrade work?
Step 1 : Buyer initiates a Safetrade by submitting an online form with transaction details. The seller will be informed that a Safetrade has been initiated. Seller must approve the transaction WITHIN 3 DAYS else it will auto cancel after approval period lapsed.
Step 2 : Buyer is instructed to make payment to Interbase Resources Sdn.Bhd (IRSB) WITHIN 7 DAYS. Payment will be top up into buyer's safetrade account. IRSB will temporarily hold the payment until the buyer has received the item.
Step 3 : Upon receipt of payment from buyer, Safetrade will instruct the Seller to ship the item. (If payment By cheque, cheque must be cleared by bank) The item MUST be shipped by courier which required recipient acknowledgement. The seller notifies Safetrade that the shipment has been made by entering the courier tracking code into the system WITHIN 7 DAYS after buyer made payment. This is to allow for speedy tracing of item in the event the item did not arrived within a reasonable time and to ensure prompt payment.(Note:Safetrade no more accept Pos Express as it does not required recipient acknowledgement.) Buyer has the right to cancel safetrade if seller do not provide courier tracking code within the time frame set.
Step 4 : Upon receiving the item, the buyer verifies the purchase WITHIN 7 DAY and release the payment to seller's safetrade account. Buyer has the right to cancel safetrade and request for refund after 7 days if the seller do not update courier tracking code.
However, payment will auto release to seller if buyer do not respond within 7 days. Moreover, buyer can hold the payment within 7 days set if buyer disagreed with the goods/seller do not send original item/the item is different from the posting/faulty item.
Step 5 : Seller request for withdrawal from safetrade account. Seller can withdraw the payment from safetrade account or accumulate the payment with other safetrade trasactions and withdraw the total amount in future period. Safetrade makes payment to seller within 5 working days by bank transfer upon receiving instruction from the seller. (Note : If payment by cheque, instruction to ship will only be sent when the cheque has been cleared by bank, this will extend the whole transaction time taken to complete Safetrade)
All transactions status will be auto updated to "COMPLETED" except for goods return, dispute, refund or trade fail by safetrade cases.

What is the Inspection Period?
Buyer and seller will need to agree on a reasonable time frame for buyer to inspect the item. This period of time is called the Inspection Period. We recommend 3-5 days for the inspection period. Inspection period will be start from the date that Seller update shipment status. Reminder with shipment date will be display in both parties safetrade details. The seller and buyer need to agree on this inspection period before proceeding with Safetrade. [top]
How long does the whole process take?
The time to complete the whole transaction depends on the terms agreed between the buyer and seller and how long buyer takes to make payment and seller takes to ship. Allow Safetrade up to 5 working days to make payment after receiving instruction to pay from buyer. (Payment by cheque will take longer process, depend numbers of days taken to clear the cheque by bank)
