To monitor the voltage of the battery, simply plug the meter into the vehicles cigarette lighter socket and it will automatically display the battery's current voltage. It features a Red LED Display for fast, accurate & clear viewing. The measurement range is 8 to 30 Volts. Fits into a standard cigarette lighter plug for easy installation. This meter is also useful to monitor the battery status of various power packs jump starters that have a cigarette-lighter type sockets.

With the engine off, and nothing turned on, the LED should display: greater than 12.0 volts. When your engine is running (Do not use while driving) the LED should display: Between 13.5 TO 14.5 volts.

What kinds of batteries is healthy ?
When engine running (do not drive),the LED dispaly:
Between 13.5 TO 14.5 (12V CAR)
Between 26.0 TO 28.0 (24V CAR)
With the engine off, and nothing turned on,the LED dispaly:
Greater than 12.0 (12V CAR) OR 24.0 (24V CAR)(for reference only)
Measuring range : DC 8V-30V±%1.2
 

If a 12v car outputs a reading between 13.5 TO 14.5volts, a 24volt car should display a reading of between 26.0 TO 28.0 volts.
