What is an RCD?
An RCD, or Residual Current Device, is a life-saving device which is designed to prevent you from getting a fatal electric shock if you touch something live, such as a bare wire. It can also provide some protection against electrical fires. RCDs offer a level of personal protection that ordinary fuses and circuit-breakers cannot provide.
How the RCD test function works?
Plug the unit into the 220V socket outlet under test, press the yellow button momentary, If the RCD does not trip, then the RCD may be faulty, or not wired to the socket outlet being tested.
This item can not detect earth neutral reverse.
All wiring should be carried out by a licensed Electrical Contractor, Do not leave the Tester plugged into a socket outlet for more than 2 hours.
