HOW TO deflate Mylar (foil) balloon and reuse?
Insert a plastic drinking straw through the colored plastic slip.
Do so carefully to ensure the straw does not poke between the plastic.
You should be able to insert the straw nearly all the way.
Slowly squeeze the balloon to release air.
Be careful to not squeeze too quickly or tightly, as this might cause the balloon to pop.
Listen for the sound or feel of the balloon deflating.
If the balloon is not deflating, it's possible you haven't inserted your straw far enough into the balloon.
Deflate the balloon from your face, as Mylar balloons are filled with helium and not air!
Fold the balloon as you go. As the balloon deflates, carefully fold or roll it towards you.
This is not only helps to ensures that all of the air gets removed, but also makes for easier storage and ensures that the balloon won't tear or pop when you refill it again.
Remove the straw and finish folding. Wrap the string around the balloon to keep it from getting tangled.
This has the added advantage of keeping the balloon tightly and compactly wrapped.
Take your balloon to store for a refill. Once you're ready for another celebration, bring your balloon to the store and ask them to refill it with helium for you.
For cheaper option, re-insert the straw and blow the balloon up yourself!
